CLEAR LAKE — A two-vehicle crash near Clear Lake in Polk County resulted in serious injury for one of the drivers involved in the early morning, August 31 accident.
Jacob Ostroski, 30 (address not given), suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash while the driver of the other vehicle, Adam Weiler, 35 (address not given) was not injured.
A press release by the Wisconsin State Patrol stated that the incident occurred at 6:40 a.m. on Saturday, August 31, 2019 on Wisconsin Highway 65 NB/SB at W. Church Road near Clear Lake.
The Wisconsin State Patrol responded the two-vehicle head on-crash on STH 65 just north of the Polk/St. Croix County line in Polk County.
A northbound vehicle driven by Weiler was attempting to negotiate a curve when it crossed into the southbound lane and struck Ostrowski’s vehicle.
Ostrowski was airlifted to Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN with life-threatening injuries.
Weiler was arrested for 5th offense OWI by Polk County Sheriffs office.
Assisting agencies included the St. Croix County Sheriff’s Department, Polk County Sheriffs Department and New Richmond EMS.
The crash remains under investigation.
