COLFAX — First place winner in the Colfax Spelling Bee, seventh grader Marek Neuville, went on to compete at the CESA 11 Spelling Bee on Wednesday, February 20.
Second place in the Spelling Bee went to Audrey Ackerlund, seventh grade, and third place was Leila Hurlburt, fifth grade.
Here are the winners from third grade through eighth grade by grade level.
Third grade: Mason Smith, first place; Lilly Lansin, second place; Isaiah Entzminger, third place.
Fourth grade: Rayna Keltner, first place; Conner Arntson, second place; Avah Elmer, third place.
Fifth grade: Leila Hurlburt, first place; Jayden Hendrickson, second place; Alannah Smestuen, third place.
Sixth grade: Rosie Sonnentag, first place; Olivia Johnson, second place; Lydia Polkoski, third place.
Seventh grade: Audrey Ackerlund, first place; Nathali Cuaquehua, second place; Mason Yarrington, third place, with Marek Neuville as alternate.
Eighth grade: Braden Kiekhafer, first place; Madison Truber, second place. There was no third place winner listed for eighth grade.
