While the four seasons come and go, wrestling season never ends in the Harry and Kathy Joles household.

Eldest son Garrett Joles, who recently graduated from Boyceville High School, holds a pair of WIAA Individual State Wrestling Championships.

Sibling rivalry in the Joles Family and a passion for the sport of wrestling has also led youngest son, Trett, to a pair of state titles of his own, the most recent coming just last month.

After winning the 160-pound state championship in the boys born 2002-03 division at the 2017 Wisconsin Wrestling Federation (WWF) Kids Folkstyle State tournament, Trett Joles claimed a second state gold trophy with a victorious march through the Cadet 182-pound division in this year’s WWF Freestyle State Championships held Saturday, May 5 at the Woodside Dells Center in Wisconsin Dells.

Earlier this spring, Trett Joles, who placed third in the Division 3, 182-pound bracket at the 2018 WIAA State Individual Wrestling Championships back in late February, added a national title to his resume.

Trett Joles finished first in the 182-pound weight class in the freshman division at the 2018 NHSCA High School Nationals held in Virginia Beach, Virginia on March  23-25.

His victory in the WWF State Freestyle championships, qualified Trett Joles for the Wisconsin Cadet Freestyle National team. As a result of that, Joles will be competing in this week’s  2018 National Cadet Duals which are being held, June 12-16, at Spokane Convention Center in Spokane, Washington and will feature the nation’s best youth wrestlers.

Joles gave a dominating performance at the 2018 WWF Freestyle State Championship held May 5 at the Woodside Dells Center.

Finishing with an unblemished record of 4-0, Trett Joles (who wrestled as a member of the Cross Trained WIC crew) scored a 12-0 win over Jordan Vandehei in the Cadet’s 182-pound quarterfinal. He then scored a second consecutive shut out on a 10-0 semifinal’s win against Logan Shramek.

In the title match, Joles scored a pin fall over Shamus McLain in just 1:15 to lay claim to the WWF’s gold trophy.

That gave the younger Joles his second gold in less than a month and a half.

His first came on the East Coast with a win at the 2018 NHSCA High School Nationals in Virginia Beach.

Trett Joles finished the tournament with three wins and the 182-pound freshman national title. To earn the honor, the soon-to-be Boyceville sophomore defeated Holden Cypher of North Carolina 9-2 in a quarterfinal’s match, scored an 8-6 sudden victory in the semifinals against Ohio’s Owen Amburgy and an impressive 9-2 championship victory in 3:48 against Michael Misita of New Jersey.

That final win gave Trett Joles his first national championship and some one-upmanship over his brother Garrett.
