Kenefick, Hintzman place at Vault Fest

Boyceville’s Brandon Kenefick received an invite to a special meet showcasing some of the best pole vaulters around the state in Division I, II, and III.

Out of 38 vaulters, Brandon tied for 7th place with a jump of 12’6 at last Saturday’s 4th Annual Sun Prairie Vault Fest.

According to his coach Corey Day, Kenefick was jumping really well and at 13’0 he was well over the bar and hit it with his chest on the way down.

Due to the cooler temperature and high winds they held the meet indoors. Coach Day stated, “I feel confident 13’0 and possibly higher for Brandon this week.”

Teammate Megan Hintzman also went to the fest and she tied for 12th out of 22 vaulters with a jump of 8 feet.

Megan made 8’6 at Thursday’s meet so she was capable of being in the top ten which is a great accomplishment for the sophomore as she just continues to get better every week.
