Accident near Knapp results in three fatalities

KNAPP — Three people are dead after a two-vehicle accident on I-94 near Knapp last week.

According to a press release, on July 13 at approximately 5:44 p.m., the Eau Claire State Patrol Post received multiple driving complaints that a black vehicle had crossed the I-94 median from the westbound lanes, and continued driving west near mile-marker 37 in the eastbound lanes at a high rate of speed.

Serghei Kundilovski, age 36, was the driver of the black 2004 Mitsubishi Diamante that struck three Minnesota men in a gray Kia Soul. Adam G. Kendhammer, age 32, Jeremy A. Berchem, age 27, and Bryan E. Rudell, age 29, were all fatally injured in the accident.

Kundilovski was airlifted to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. There was no update on his condition available at the time of publication. Online records searched indicate he resides in Orangevale, California.

The crash remains under investigation by the Wisconsin State Patrol. Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Dunn County Sheriff’s Office.
