Colfax, Elk Mound basketball players named to DSC all-conference teams

The Elk Mound and Colfax boys’ and girls’ basketball teams evenly split a dozen spots on the 2016 – 2017 Dunn-St. Croix all-conference teams.

Elk Mound’s Dane Lew and Ben Lambele were named to the first team all-conference. Lew finished his high school career with an average of 14.9 points per game and reeled in 113 rebounds this season. Lambele averaged 14.3 points per game and 1.2 assists.

Lew was also named the 2016 – 2017 DSC Boys’ Player of the Year.

Senior Jacob Larson and sophomore George Scharlau represented Colfax High School as second-team all-conference players. Larson completed his high school play with 155 rebounds and 12.9 points per game this season. Scharlau, who still has two years to play, scored 11.7 points per game this season, for a total of 268 points.

On the girls’ teams, Colfax’s Ally Heidorn and Elk Mound’s Elizabeth Fasbender were named to the first team, all-conference. Heidorn sat out several games this season due to a concussion, but still averaged 10 points per game and earned a total of 230 points this season.

Fasbender, who was named the DSC Girls’ Player of the Year for a second year in a row, increased her points-per-game average to 12 this season. She also provided 99 rebounds this season, and averaged 2.9 assists per game.

Viking sophomore Savannah Henricks, and Elk Mound’s Kami King, Allie Weber and Morgan Radtke were named as second team players for the season. Henricks provided 51 assists, and 106 rebounds on the season. King provided substantial all-around play for the Mounders, providing 203 career assists, 181 rebounds, and 677 total points.

Weber, a junior, hit 49 three-point shots this season, and totaled 229 points in 14 weeks of play. Radtke, who still has two years left as a varsity player, averaged 11 points per game, but provided 165 rebounds and averaged 1 assist per game.

Colfax underclassmen Alyssa Dachel and Kameri Meredith were named to the all-conference honorable mention team. Dachel, a sophomore, averaged three assists per game and grabbed 51 rebounds. Meredith, who played her first high school season in 2016 – 2017, averaged 8.7 points per game and nabbed 172 rebounds.
