Culpepper & Merriweather Circus coming to Colfax July 18

By LeAnn R. Ralph

COLFAX  —  It’s official — the circus is coming to Colfax in July.

The Colfax Village Board approved an application from the Colfax Commercial Club at the April 25 meeting for the Culpepper & Merriweather Circus to use the Colfax Fairgrounds July 18.

July 18 is a Monday, and the circus will have two showtimes at 5 p.m. and at 7:30 p.m.

The circus will be pulling into town the morning of July 18 to set up for the two shows later in the day.

Although Colfax Commercial Club members had hoped for a Sunday date for the circus, as it turned out, Monday, July 18, was the only date available at the time the circus will be coming through this part of Wisconsin.

Tickets in advance will be $10 for adults and $7 for children and senior citizens, although the Colfax Commercial Club does yet not know when or where tickets will be available.

Children are defined as ages two through 12, and senior citizens are defined as people 65 years or older.

On the day of the circus, tickets will be $13 for adults and $8 for children or senior citizens.

The Culpepper & Merriweather Circus will provide posters and promotional materials to the Colfax Commercial Club to advertise the circus, along with adult tickets and child/senior tickets to sell.

The Colfax Commercial Club plans to advertise ticket availability in the Colfax Messenger, so keep an eye on the Messenger for the dates and places when tickets will be available.

The Culpepper & Merriweather Circus is based out of Hugo, Oklahoma.
