DURAND – The Colfax and Elk Mound golf teams were in action on Tuesday, April 12 at Rolling Greens golf course. This was a conference varsity golf meet. Mondovi won the meet with Spring Valley taking second place. Colfax ended up taking fifth and Elk Mound finished sixth (last) on the afternoon.
Colfax
Colfax was lead by senior Trevor Seston who shot a 44 of the course. Overall the team did not finish as high as they would have liked to, but they will have more meets to improve.
The rest of the varsity team included: senior, Brett Prince who shot a 48; senior, Trey Guillickson who added a 49; senior, Andy Buckley, who shot a 53 on the day; and sophomore, Richard Stehling who finished with a 61.
The Colfax Vikings finished with 194 strokes on the afternoon which placed them at fifth.
Elk Mound
Junior golfer, Jameson Rubenzer led the way for Elk Mound as he shot a 50 on the afternoon. Elk Mound also did not finish where they would like to, but they only have one senior on the team which leads them to lean on underclassmen.
The rest of the team finished with a score of 232 which would place them last at the meet. The other varsity golfers included: freshman, Dillon McLaughlin who shot a 57; freshman Maxwell Marquardt who added a 59; senior, Colin Svee added a 66; and one shot behind Svee was sophomore, Nathaniel Schreiber.
This Elk Mound team is very young which will give the underclassmen a lot of varsity experiment for the coming years.
