Colfax 6th grade girls basketball team participates in Wisconsin State Invitational Championship Tournament

MANITOWOC & MERRILL, WI — The Colfax 6th grade girls basketball team participated in the Wisconsin State Invitational Championship Tournament in Manitowoc and Merrill on February 20 and 21, 2016. This tournament, which was organized by The Great Northwest Basketball League, brought together 79 of the top community-based 6th grade girls basketball teams from all across the State of Wisconsin.

State champions were crowned in four divisions: Division 1, Division 2, Division 3 and Division 4/5, based on the enrollment of the high school into which each team feeds.

The Colfax 6th grade girls team played in Division 4/5, finishing in 6th place. The results of Colfax’s six games were as follows:

Pool Play: Colfax 29, Assumption 25

Round of 16: Colfax 28, Neillsville 19

1st – 8th Place Quarterfinals: Darlington 29, Colfax, 22

5th – 8th Place Semi-finals: Colfax 30, Kewaunee 26
