Families that gathered with Doris and Herb Tallman in Eau Claire on Sunday, May 5 to celebrate Doris’ birthday included Dan Dietsche, Gus & Debbie Avenido, Joanie Lindau, Kyle and Britney Lindau.

Congratulations to Elwood Donaldson who celebrated his 90th birthday on Friday, May 9. Guests who came on Thursday, May 8 to greet Elwood were Sandy Dewitz, Don Donaldson, Scott Donaldson, Bob & Lila Donaldson and Becky Fostvedt. Becky had a birthday, wedding anniversary and Mother’s Day in the same week.

Doris and Herb Tallman came home on Friday, May 9 after enjoying a week at Bayfield and watched the ice go out.

Ron and Mary Keller of Hopkins, MN spent Mother’s Day weekend with Mary’s mother, Mae Sparby.

Norma Klimpke of Cedarburg, WI, Sharon Hegna of the Twin Cities and Mona (Hanson) Talley visited Sandy Anderson over Mother’s Day weekend.

Shirley Baker of Wallingford, IA, visited her aunt, Swanee Rasmussen and cousin, Carol Squires, on Mother’s Day weekend and assisted in packing for Swanee’s move to Friendsville, MD following Memorial Day.

The Senior Citizens Group met at the Senior Center for a 5:30 supper on Monday, May 5th followed by playing Bingo.

There was a good turnout for the Pancake Breakfast served by the New Hope Lutheran Men’s Group, along with the Ladies Bake Sale and Plant Sale, all held at the Senior Center on Saturday, May 10.

The congregation of Independent Bible Church enjoyed a Mother’s Day program on Sunday, May 11 with all the ladies going home with pretty plants.

Paul and Lou Ann Gilberts hosted supper for all their family and grandchildren on Mother’s Day, May 11.

Terrance was honored with a “going away” party at New Hope Lutheran Church on Sunday, May 4.

Bob and Mary Hanson arrived in the Sand Creek area on April 30 after spending the winter months in Mesa, Arizona.

George and Delores Vlcek attended a dance recital in Eau Claire on Friday evening, May 9, of their granddaughters, Moriah, Briahna and Georgia Vlcek.

Gene and Bonnie Peterson, Terry and Carolyn Sayles and David Sayles were supper guests of Joel and Karen Smith, Jack and Ryan on Mother’s Day.

Louie Reetz grilled out, preparing a meal for the mothers on Mothers Day. Present were Tracey Cowley and family, Jennelle Wolf and family, Jamie Bowe, Mary Reetz and Mark Payne.

Dale and Sue Paulson celebrated Sarah’s birthday and Mother’s Day on Sunday noon with the following guests: Sarah and Ben Knepper and Eddie, Eric Paulson, Roger Paulson, Cindy Schaller, Joe and Lois Moore.

Rhonda Nelson visited her godmother, Swanee Rasmussen on Friday evening, May 9, and brought a bouquet of flowers to honor her on Mother’s Day.
