MENOMONIE — In addition to the Menomonie Farmers Market from May until October, Menomonie’s Wilson Park also will be the site of two events in July, “The bEAT Concert” and “Let’s Paint the Town.”
The Menomonie City Council approved special event permits for The bEAT Concert on July 5 and Let’s Paint the Town on July 19 at the city council’s February 17 meeting.
The bEAT Concert is a fund raiser sponsored by Stepping Stones of Dunn County and will be featuring live music the evening of July 5 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
All together, 300 people are expected to attend the event, which is similar to the attendance at the Farmers Market and Ludington Band concerts, according to the application for the special event permit.
Stepping Stones will have an information table and will be serving food and beverages.
Let’s Paint the Town on July 19 is listed as a family festival community event that will start at 10 a.m. and finish at 5 p.m.
The total number of anticipated attendees is 5,000, according to the application for the special event permit.
In addition to the Farmers Market until noon, Let’s Paint the Town will feature musical performances, a children’s interactive area and food trucks in Wilson Park, along with art stalls along 16th Street and Wilson Avenue.
The third special event permit approved by the Menomonie City Council was for the Menomonie Farmers Market in Wilson Park.
The Farmers Market is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays and is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesdays.
The Menomonie Farmers Market, which will be starting its 25th season, will open on May 17 and will run through October 15.
Picnic licenses
In additional business, the Menomonie City Council approved a temporary Class “B” beer license for Menomonie Sunrise Rotary for Rotary Fest on April 12, 2025, and Sadistic Century on August 9, 2025.
According to the Sadistic Century website, the event is “a fun and challenging road bicycle ride on hilly, smooth, quiet roads in Western Wisconsin. Routes include 200 km, 100 miles, 100 km and 60 km lengths in three distinct rest stops mainly in Dunn County, Wisconsin … We serve a great meal with refreshments after the ride.”
Proceeds from the Sadistic Century ride will be distributed to non-profit groups in the Menomonie area, including Stepping Stones of Dunn County, through the Menomonie Sunrise Rotary Club.
