SPRING VALLEY — It was not a good start to Dunn-St. Croix Conference play for the Colfax volleyball team as they traveled to Spring Valley Sept. 19. Facing the defending conference champion Cardinals, the Vikings lost in three sets by scores of 25-18, 25-12 and 25-21.
Brynn Sikora and Ruby Kunsman were the bright spots for the Vikings as Sikora slammed 13 kills while Kunsman assisted her teammates 21 times. Aubrey Rihn also smacked a trio of kills, blocked three shots and slammed two ace serves. Defensively, Sierra Shipman picked up 13 digs while Rihn added 12 and Jordyn Bowe 10.
“Spring Valley played a great match with minimal errors,” Viking head coach Kari Sedivy commented. “ We played well at times and then had a few mistakes that hurt us and threw off our rhythm. Brynn had a successful night hitting and seeing the court,” she added.
Colfax is 4-5 overall and will play Elk Mound at home on September 24.
