Somerset School is center of county residents standing against Title IX revisions
SOMERSET — The Somerset, Wisconsin School District is discussing the new Title IX Revision (changes) that are illegal and unconstitutional. Currently, 26 states have sued so far, but not Wisconsin, so said Matt Bocklund, a Hudson resident with “Join the Movement”.
He continued with, “Taking a stand with our fellow Somerset neighbors on Title IX Revisions is a crucial step toward making significant strides across St. Croix County and beyond. Join your neighbors in Somerset this July to champion the values that protect, and promote the well being of our girls. Together we have the chance to let the (school) board know “our girls are not for sale”, in exchange for federal dollars.”
According to a story from USA Today, “Students and school employees will be impacted in the fall by new changes to a rule that affects all federally-funded schools.”
“It’s an update to how schools will have to handle sex discrimination and abuse cases. Politically, it’s a part of a power struggle between the Trump and Biden administrations.”
Bocklund’s news release called for the people to “Rise up and say no to the Executive branch of the Federal government changing the meaning of sex (male and female) to gender identity and sexual orientation without Congress approval. Title IX 1972 amendment was created with the intent of giving girls and women in education equal rights to scholarship, to sports, and to opportunities. These opportunities will now be lost under the new rules put in place by the Biden Administration and the Department of Education.”
Bocklund urges people to attend the July 22nd Somerset School board meeting.
“The Biden administration’s overhaul of Title IX is set to take effect August 1st, but in recent weeks court decisions may be enough for critics to stop the changes before they fully take effect,” according to a story written by Casey Harper.
More of Bocklund’s concerns can be found in the letters to the editor column.

Putting on a dress and taking a few pills does make a girl. The male muscular structure is a huge advntsge in competition with girls and should not be allowed. As far as religion in school-why are we asking teachers teach what should be parents responsibility.
