BOYCEVILLE—“We have a number of people showing interest from what was just in the paper,” commented Village President Lukas Montgomery about the development of Sykora Lane. Montgomery was referring to the development of salable home building lots and the Village Board’s desire to have the village grow by offering home building sites within the community.
Sykora Lane is an area just off Anderson Hill Lane, east of the post office, on the Village’s south side. At a Village Board meeting of a couple of weeks ago the board had pondered the development of just five lots, but with public interest in the entire project the board made an agreement with MSA to plan for the development of more than 20 lots in that subdivision.
In Phase One, of the development would create five lots on the south side of Anderson Halls Land and Phase Two would create another 21 lots off Sykora Lane.
Eric Barclay, the Project Engineer from MSA Professional Services out of Rice Lake explained the proposed contract to the Village Board that the board’s meeting on Monday, April 22nd. Barclay went over some old plans that the village had for that area, but he noted that those plans are over 20 years old and things have changed in that time.
Montgomery noted, “that this is something that we just have to do.” And he continued with, “we will not have an issue selling lots.” According to the contract bidding on the project will be this August or September. The cost of the contract is on a fixed fee of $69,800.
