Mayor not running for re-election, contest for G.C. School Board

Glenwood City Mayor Robert Unruh has chosen not to run for reelection in the upcoming April election. Unruh who served as council president and became mayor following the resignation of long time mayor John Larson in 2022. Unruh was elected mayor in April of last year for a one-year term.
Only one person filed for mayor and that was City Council member and local businessman Kent Kletscher. Bill Ross, Jr., Steven Lee and Jess Olson currently hold the three open seats on the city council. Olson and Lee filed for re-election while Ross is not seeking another term.
For Glenwood City School Board members, incumbents Jodi Main and Chuck Draxler have filed for re-election. Also turning in his Declaration of Candidacy is Tony Mielzarek. Draxler is the current board vice president while Main is the current board clerk on the seven-member board. These are for a three-year terms.
Two seats are open on the Boyceville School Board and currently being held by Amber Carlsrud and Erik Evenson. Evenson is not seeking re-election to the board and Carlsrud and Stacy Fetzer have filed to fill those two seats.
Megan Mittlestadt has file a notification of non-candidacy for the Boyceville Village Board. Shawn Mittlestadt and Ben Hitz have filed candidacy papers. The current seat holders are Shawn Mittlestadt, Megan Mittlestadt and Jonathan Farrell.
In the village of Wheeler, incumbent Village President Robert Hakanson is seeking another two-year term.
