WISCOSNIN RAPIDS — Competing for the third straight year at the WIAA Division 3 state cross country meet, Colfax junior Kaysen Goodell finished 49th out of 152 individual runners. The meet was held Saturday, October 28 at the Ridges Golf Course in Wisconsin Rapids.
Goodell completed the 5K course in 20:51 which was faster then her times as a freshman and sophomore. Running with her teammates as a freshman, she was 93rd overall at 22:40, and again with her team sophomore year, Goodell finished in 57th place in 21:23. Senior Autumn Michalski of Chequamegon won the race this year in 18:02 which was 53 seconds ahead of the runner up Magge Behler of Kohler.
“Kaysen went for it and was very solid,” Colfax coach Joe Doucette said.
“She got a side ache after the two mile and that made the finish hard. This really caps a great year for her. One of the biggest compliments I give is that she really comes through for her team. You are going to get a great effort from her with a great attitude. She has improved every year and has now run at the state meet three times,” he added
