Rep. Moses votes to pass the state budget
Madison – Rep. Clint Moses (R-Menomonie) voted in favor of the 2023-2025 state biennium budget, which advanced out of the Assembly on Thursday.
The state budget works for all of Wisconsin, where everyone living in our great state will benefit from improved services and lower taxes. The Republican proposed budget decreases government bureaucracy, makes historic investments in K-12 funding and state transportation infrastructure, and so much more.
“The state budget reflects the priorities of Wisconsinites,” said Rep. Moses. “This budget provides substantial investments in key programs, while granting the largest tax cut in state history, totaling $4.4 billion.”
Governor Evers proposed a large increase in state spending, which would have raised taxes by over $2 billion. These new taxes would have gone to expanding welfare and growing the size of our government.
“I am thrilled the UW-Stout Heritage Hall project was included in the 2023-2025 biennium budget, as the Governor did not include it in his budget. This renovation is much needed, and will prepare more students with the necessary skills to be productive members of Wisconsin’s workforce, like UW-Stout has always done. Go Blue Devils!”
“I’m hopeful that the Governor will sign this budget for our kids, taxpayers, and communities.”
The 2023-2025 state biennium budget has passed both houses and heads to the governor for his decision.
