BOYCEVILLE — The weather finally cooperated last Thursday, allowing eight teams, including Colfax, to compete in the Boyceville Invitational April 27.
Molly Heidorn was a triple winner for the girls, taking the 1,600 m run in 5:27.17, the 3,200 m run in 12:01.08 and anchoring the 4×800 m relay with teammates Kaysen Goodell, Janica Larson and Hannah Peterson with a time of 10:38.18.
Jeanette Hydukovich was a double winner once again, heaving the shot put 36’ 5.50” and the discus 125’ 5”, while younger sister Clara Hydukovich was second in the discus and seventh in the shot put.
Goodell claimed second place in the 1,600 m run and the 4×400 m relay placed third with Goodell, Ava Sedivy, Lauren Becker and Peterson. Kennedy Shane added a fourth place in the shot put and sixth in the discus throw, Becker was fifth in the 800 m run along with Peterson taking fifth in the 400 m.
Sedivy was a busy girl, taking tenth in the high jump, 13th in the 200 m dash and 12th in the 400 m dash, and Jenifer Maves finished in tenth place in the discus throw and 15th in the shot put.
As a team, the Viking girls placed second with 90 points. Prairie Farm won with a sxcore of 159.5.
The boys did not have anyone place first but Nick Jensen claimed a second in the discus and a third in the shot put. Theo Hovde finished third in the 400 m dash, third in the 4×400 m relay with David Lyrek, Ashton Yarrington and Charlie Charbonneau, fourth in the 200 m dash and fifth in the long jump. Others placing fourth were Charbonneau in the 800 m run, Yarrington in the 1,600 m run, Skyler Maves in the discus and the 4×800 m relay team consisting of Yarrington, Mark Sonnentag, Lyrek and Charbonneau.

Logan Swartz earned a sixth in the long jump, tenth in the 400 m dash and 13th in the 200 m dash, while Lyrek was seventh in the 400 m dash and Maves was eighth in the shot put. In addition, Elijah Obermueller was 21st in the 100 m dash and 27th in the 200 m dash, Sonnentag raced in the 1,600 m run for an 11th place, Nate Edwards was 18th in the shot put and 21st in the discus and fellow thrower John Riebe was 20th in the discus and 21st in the shot put.
Colfax finished sixth in the boys final standings with 61 points. Glenwood City won the title with 158 points.
