What is happening at the Glenwood City Public Library?

Have you ever wondered what a cell looks like but didn’t have a microscope?  The Glenwood City Public Library has you covered.  Come in and check out our microscope and open your eyes to a whole new world. Glenwood City Public Library is also here if your internet goes down. We have free Wi-Fi and hotspots that you can check out. We are in the middle of planning our Summer Reading, All Together Now. Here is just a sneak peek on what we have planned, A fun Science show with Super Heroes, Snakes are going to invade the library, and your going to have find clues to escape the library.  We are so excited for this year’s Summer Reading.

We have great projects planed for children and adults this April so we hope to see you there.  If you have any questions about a project or program please don’t hesitate give us a call or stop in.

Monday Craft Night – Monday’s from 4:00-6:00. Our Monday Craft Night is open to all ages.  If you are unable to attend and would like to try these projects at home please call and we will be happy to give you the recipe/instructions. These are free events, pictures might be taken during the craft for our Facebook Page, and children under 8 should be accompanied by an adult.

• April 17 – Pop Bottle Firefly

• April 24 – Paper Plate Calla Lily Flowers

Special Craft Day – These are crafts that will be happening on Saturdays and are geared towards Teens through seniors.  Also for these crafts you will need to sign up for space is limited. Please call (715-265-7443), email (gclibrary@glenwoodcitylibrary.org) or Facebook message to reserve your spot.  This event is Free, and pictures might be taken during the craft for our Facebook Page.

• April 22 | 11:00 – The Coolest Coaster in Town |This event does deal using fire so children must have supervision.

Peter Rabbit’s Storytime – Every Friday – 10:00-11:00

Kids Book Club– Glenwood City Public Library is introducing their Kids Book Club.  It is open to ages 0-18 years old and very easy to do.

• Sign up and receive a punch card.

• Every visit to the library with a check out you get your card punched.

• When you have all 16 punches you get a free book to take home.

Afternoon Book Club – Meets on the First Monday’s of the Month at 12:30 in the library.

Friends of the Library Book Club – Meets every 4th Monday of the Month at 7:00.

1000 Books Before Kindergarten – “The concept is simple; the rewards are priceless.  Read a book (any book) to your newborn, infant, and or toddler.  The goal is to have read 1,000 books (yes you can repeat books) before your precious one starts kindergarten.” (1000booksbeforekindergarten.org) Come in today to sign your child up, rewards are given at 3 milestones.
