MENOMONIE — The Colfax boys’ and girls track and field squads got their 2023 seasons underway last Tueday, March 21 when they competed indoors at the annual Blue Devil Invitational held at the Sports and Fitness Center on the UW-Stout campus.
The Colfax girls finished in 20th place thanks to a third-place showing in the shot put by junior Kennedy Shane who tossed the steel sphere 33’ 5.5” to account for all of her team’s scoring.
Unfortuantely, the Viking boys were unable to secure a top-eight finish in any of the events, and therefore did not score any points in the invitational which featured over two dozens schools across all three Divisions.
Rice Lake won the girls’ team title with 81 points while Prescott placed second with 44.5 points. Prairie Farm placed third with a score of 42 points and River Falls, Ladysmith and Superior all tied with 36 points to round out the top six.
