Barbershoppers bring holiday cheer to area care centers
On Tuesday, December 6, 2022, the “Merry Gentlemen Holiday Singers” from the Dunn County Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society made several stops throughout the Chippewa Valley area. The first stop was at the American Lutheran Home in Mondovi to sing several Yuletide Favorites and Jolly Christmas songs to their residents and friends. On with the jackets and off to Durand to catch the residents of the Homeplace before noon, it was great to see so many familiar faces. A quick lunch and our journey continues to the Plum City Care Center where the residents were waiting eagerly to hear some of their favorite Christmas songs. Last stop was the Heritage of Elmwood as lots of smiling faces were awaiting us. It was a great feeling to bring so much cheer to Care Center residents and workers. Lots of happy faces as the residents were tapping their toes while singing along with the Holiday Singers.
The Merry Gentlemen Holiday Singers are made up of male singers through out the Chippewa Valley area who come together to spread cheer during the Holiday Season.
The Barbershop Singers meet every Tuesday evening, alternating between Colfax and Eau Claire, for re-hearsals. They enjoy the great musical experience in 4 part a cappella harmony while providing a great com-munity service.
The Dunn County Chapter of Barbershop Harmony invite all male singers, who enjoy singing, to visit us and enjoy an evening of fellowship and song. For more information call (715) 962-3038 or visit us at: www.dcbarbershop.org or www.facebook.com/dunncountybarbershop
