CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICE — Vicar Charles Shingledecker, pastor for the Colfax Rural Lutheran parish, conducted an outdoor Christmas Eve service in the Kyle’s Market/Pleasant Valley Properties parking lot on Friday, December 24. This year, the temperature was 42 degrees Fahrenheit. For last year’s outdoor Christmas Eve service, the temperature was 5 degrees. Vicar Chuck is in his last year at the seminary and has been approved to be ordained next summer. Colfax Rural Lutheran parish is planning to have another student serve as pastor.
