STUDENTS and administration gathered for a groundbreaking ceremony at Mound View Elementary School in Elk Mound on Tuesday, April 6. Participating in the ceremony from left to right are: Cael, Olivia, Millie, Vincent, Mr. Eric Wright (superintendent), Elise, Avery, Emma, and Mr. Eric Hanson (Mound View Principal), and Mason. Work on Mound View Elementary is part of the $15.7 million district-wide renovation project that Elk Mound School District voters approved last spring.

ELK MOUND – One year ago, Elk Mound Area School District passed a $15.7 million referendum for renovations at its three schools. Significant projects include secure entrances to improve safety at the elementary and middle school, upgrades to high school classrooms and the athletic field, and a new middle school gym. Students and administration gathered Tuesday afternoon, April 6, 2021, for a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the start of construction on these referendum projects.Eric Wright, Elk Mound District Administrator, expressed gratitude to the community for supporting the referendum and investing in the District’s future. “We’ve got a lot of work ahead,” Wright said. “But it’s exciting work.” Construction is expected to be complete by the start of the 2022-23 school year. The community is encouraged to follow the construction progress through the District’s website at www.elkmound.k12.wi.us
