ELK MOUND – One year ago, Elk Mound Area School District passed a $15.7 million referendum for renovations at its three schools. Significant projects include secure entrances to improve safety at the elementary and middle school, upgrades to high school classrooms and the athletic field, and a new middle school gym. Students and administration gathered Tuesday afternoon, April 6, 2021, for a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the start of construction on these referendum projects.Eric Wright, Elk Mound District Administrator, expressed gratitude to the community for supporting the referendum and investing in the District’s future. “We’ve got a lot of work ahead,” Wright said. “But it’s exciting work.” Construction is expected to be complete by the start of the 2022-23 school year.
