ELK MOUND — On March 1 the Elk Mound Board of Trustees approved working with Bremer Bank for a loan of $35,500 for the purchase of a new Village truck to be purchased from Gilbert’s of Sand Creek. The new vehicle will be a 2021 Dodge truck to replace the current Village truck one. Public Works Director Mark Levra indicated the current truck one truck will be put up for sale to the public for approximately $17,500; Trustee Terry Stamm made a motion to approve the purchase and stipulated the $17,500 gained from the sale of the old truck be rolled into paying off the loan for the new one.
Menomonie Attorney Christina Mayer was present at the meeting for a public appearance. She is running to become a Dunn County Circuit Court judge in Branch two. Mayer was complimentary of current Dunn County Judges James Peterson and Rod Smelzer. She has experience working in family law, including: child protection, guardianship, and divorce. She explained she sees running for Circuit Court as a means to continue serving families in Dunn County. Mayer closed her appearance by expressing her wish she had been able to attend in person, but indicated her understanding of the need to be careful due to the coronavirus.
There was no other business before the Board during the meeting, and it adjourned shortly after Mayer finished speaking. The next meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. on March 15.
