Colfax boys take 5-point win over Ellsworth

ELLSWORTH — The Colfax boys’ basketball team was on the road on Monday evening, January 27, and were able to take the win over Ellsworth by five points, 67-62.
Colfax improved to 9-5 overall with the victory.
“We beat a really good Ellsworth team,” said Colfax head coach Garrett Maas. “We shot the ball well in the first half erupting for 41 points.”
Senior Cole Seehaver was once again leading the charge for the Vikings as he put in 19 points, with four shots from beyond the arc, three doubles, and was one-for-two from the line. Seehaver also led in offensive rebounds with four, and had two steals.
Zach Rindy was able to make his way out of a scoring funk that he has been in as of late and put up 13 points for Colfax. Rindy had three doubles, a triple, and was four-for-six at the line.
“I was proud of the way we executed down the stretch and won the game at the free throw line,” Maas stated.
Forwards Drew Gibson and Ed Hydukovich used all of their 6’ 4” frames to nab 13 defensive rebounds between them. Gibson also had a pair of threes and was two-for-two at the line, while Hydukovich led in deflections with five, two doubles, and a pair of triples.
Noah Heidorn was able to pop off with seven points for Colfax, with a triple, double, and was two-for-two at the free throw line.
Also scoring for the Vikings were Noah Albricht with six points and Hunter Rebak had four points.
Mason Anderson had 28 points for the Panthers while teammate Jack Janke tallied 19.
The Vikings traveled to Glenwood City on Tuesday evening, February 4 and will host Elmwood/Plum City on Friday, February 7, and Turtle Lake next Monday, February 10.
