Susan Kay Jenson

Susan Kay Jenson, 75, of Colfax, passed away, Monday, July 7, 2025 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born February 1, 1950 in Menomonie, WI to William and Phyllis (Vradenburg) Stai.

Susan worked numerous jobs in the community in addition to farming. She enjoyed many different hobbies and interests that included going to the casino, playing cards with family and friends, going on trips and fostering many teenage boys and mentally challenged adults. She especially enjoyed having the grandkids at the farm.

Susan is survived by her husband, Duane; children, Chad (Jen) Ponto, Troy (Jackie) Ponto, Rich (Annie) Jenson, Wally (Jodi) Jenson, Karen (Andy) Crouse, Gayle (Jason) Hayton and Flint (Rachel) Roberts; sisters and brothers, Bill (Rosie) Stai, Bob (Connie) Stai, Julie (Ron) Bien, Jean (Dave) Somsen, Joan (Doug) Wahl and Peggy (Steve) Schultz; sister-in-law, Barb Stai; 18 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren plus many bonus grandchildren and great grandchildren, along with many other relatives and friends. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Jerry and Jim; brother-in-law, Dana Cook; Duane’s parents, Waldemar and Ardell, along with her first husband, David Ponto.

Thank you to Dr. Nathan Rich with Mayo Clinic for the care given to Susan for many years and thank you to Mayo Hospice for the great job helping Susan and the family.

Visitation was from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 13, 2025 at Sampson Funeral Home, 1017 Railroad Ave, Colfax, WI 54730. Funeral Service was at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, July 14, 2025, with Pastor Jordan Herrick officiating, with visitation one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Burial was at Evergreen Cemetery.
