Elaine Ann Knutson

Elaine Ann (Tuschl) Knutson, age 77, of Colfax, passed away on Friday, April 11, 2025, at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire. She was born on February 10, 1948, to Herman and Loretta (Benish) Tuschl. She graduated from Colfax High School in 1966. She married Allen Knutson on October 8, 1988.

Elaine worked at various jobs in the food service field. She loved spending time with her grandkids, visiting over coffee, going on family hayrides and taking drives around the countryside. Playing canasta, solitaire and embroidering were Elaine’s most recent favorite hobbies. She enjoyed calling BINGO on Thursday evenings at the Blind Tiger and the connections that she was able to make with people through that. Elaine was also a member of the Colfax Municipal Building Restoration Group and worked for making improvements to the building.

She is survived by her sons, Troy (Michelle) Knutson of Colfax and Wayne (Casey) McClanahan of Florida; grandchildren Edward Doerr of LaCrosse and Finn [Josephine] Doerr of Whitewater; brothers Joe (Connie) Tuschl and Tom (Pam) Tuschl; sisters Joan Hagberg, Doris Tuschl, and Joyce Sundstrom; sisters-in-law Gloria Knutson, Lila Whitted, Gladys Webb and Marian McDaniel; brother-in-law Robert Knutson; in addition to several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Elaine was preceded in death by her husband Allen Knutson in October 2013, parents Herman and Loretta Tuschl, sister Beverly Tuschl, brothers-in-law Ray Knutson, Vernon Knutson, Rueben (Bonnie) Knutson, Marshall Whitted, Lee McDaniel and Dan Hagberg; sister-in-law Lillian (Bob) Hudson; nephew Tommy Tuschl and nieces Brenda and Kelly Gunnufson.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 27, 2025 at the Grapevine Senior Center in Colfax with visitation from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. before the service. Private burial at a later date will be at the Evergreen Cemetery in Colfax.
