Marlene M. (Zielsdorf) Koonst

Marlene M. (Zielsdorf) Koonst, age 83, of Belle Plaine, formerly of Woodbury, MN, passed away peacefully at home on December 7, 2024.

Preceded in death by husband, Carl; sisters, Donna Rae Zielsdorf and Rose Osborne; brother, Marvin Zielsdorf; sisters-in-law, Ilene and Rita Zielsdorf; brother-in-law, Jerry Osborne; son-in-law, Paul Schumacher and grandson, Bryan Tupy. 

Survived by son, Jim (Mary Ann) Koonst; daughter, Cindy Schumacher; son, Douglas (Stephanie) Koonst; 7 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brothers, Harland Zielsdorf and Duane (Deb) Zielsdorf and sister, Kendra (Duane) Kostman. 

She was a past member of the Women’s Auxiliary St. Paul Park American Legion.

Funeral Service will be Thursday, December 19, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with Visitation 2 hours prior to service, from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. at Newport Lutheran Church, 900 15th St, Newport, MN 55055. A luncheon will immediately follow the service at church. Interment will follow the luncheon at Glenwood City Cemetery, Glenwood City, WI.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Newport Lutheran Church.
