Dunn County Area Retired Educators’ Association (DCAREA), collected school supplies, for public school students in our area, during a recent meeting. DCAREA also donated $165 to assist area public school teachers and students, with further back to school supplies.
At the same meeting, a representative from Coco’s Heart, a non-profit rescue that works to find forever homes for dogs, cats, pocket pets, and occasionally farm animals was the guest speaker. Coco’s Heart has its own veterinarian staff, and has placed nearly 18,500 animals into approved homes. DCAREA donated $150 to this organization to assist them in finding homes for pets.
DCAREA’s next meeting is Monday, Sept. 9th, at the Menomonie Moose Lodge, 720 19th Ave. E., at 12:00 noon. The guest speaker will be Bethany Schneider, ADRC specialist. She will discuss recent changes to Medicare Part D that will reduce prescription costs, and answer questions on Medicare, Social Security, and Medicaid.
All retired public school employees, preschool through university, are welcome!
Please call Jean at 715-505-8285 by Sept. 5th to RSVP.
