Donna Jean Hom

Donna Hom
Donna Jean Hom (Allen) (nee McIntyre) – beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Sister, and Friend – passed away peacefully on July 25, 2024, in Elkhorn, Wisconsin, at the age of 89.
Born on June 26, 1935, in Wheeler, Wisconsin, Donna was married to Lawrence Allen on her 17th birthday in 1952. Together their small-town love grew into a large and sprawling family that she never failed to keep fed.
A woman of many interests, Donna enjoyed playing card games like Rack-O and Rummikub, especially delighting in victories over her opponents. Although she never learned to ride a bike or swim, her passion for travel took her to many beautiful destinations including Mexico, the Bahamas, the Caribbean, and the Hawaiian Islands. Her adventurous spirit continued into her later years, as seen in her last trip with Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren earlier this year, where she humorously navigated her scooter with notable speed.
Donna held many jobs throughout her life and retired as a Nurse’s Assistant in the ICU and Nuclear Medicine department at St. Luke’s Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Donna was a devoted member of the First Church of the Nazarene. Her faith and devotion to God were important aspects of her life, which gave her much comfort and joy.
She is survived by her children: Debra East, Dian York (Dave), Dean Allen (Jodi); and Denise Golata; Daughter-in-Law: Rachelle Allen; 3 Step-Children: Cindy (Jay) Miller, Mark Hom (Sue) and Bonnie Carstens. 19 Grandchildren; 36 Great-Grandchildren; 5 Step-Grandchildren; and 6 Step-Great-Grandchildren. She’s further survived by her loving sister, Betty Crane, and many, cherished Nieces, Nephews, and extended Family.
She was preceded in Death by her Parents: Dougal T. McIntyre and Letty (Steves), Loving Husband and Father of her children: Lawrence Allen, Second Husband: Albert Hom, Son: David Allen, Granddaughter: Breanna York, Great-Grandson: Madden Pickman, and 8 of her Siblings.
The family invites friends and loved ones to join them in celebrating Donna’s life at the New Life Church of the Nazarene in Wheeler, Wisconsin on Saturday, August 3, 2024. Visitation will begin at 12:30 PM, followed by services at 1:30 PM. A light lunch will be served after the Services. Donna will be laid to rest at Hay River Cemetery.
