I feel sorry for Joe Biden!
I watched the presidential debate last Thursday night and the performance that President Biden put forth was at best an “old man with a poor memory.” His memory is a problem for him and also for this country and I believe that if he cannot lead himself, how can he lead the nation?
I questioned some time ago, who is running this country? I came to the conclusion that it is being run by his wife, Jill. If you remember back last month as the president was attending the 80th anniversary of D-Day, it was Jill that flew back and forth from the states. One day she was at the trial of Hunter Biden and then flew to France to assist Joe at the ceremonies honoring the troops that landed at Normandy.
If you watched the end of the debate as Jill helped Joe off the stage and held his hand as he took the step off the stage. I know how difficult it is, as with my bad knees, I need help with stairs. But then I am not trying to lead a country.
After the debate, I watched Fox News, who pointed out how bad Joe was and then the next morning I watched NBC News and they told how bad Donald Trump was in the debate.
I was further saddened when some comedians appeared on TV and made fun of the president. That does not help the problem. It appears that we need to impress on him and his family that he needs to step down as soon as possible, but I don’t like what is in line to replace him, but we need to move on as a country.
On a local issue, we must report the passing of Helen Limberg, daughter of the late Dr. Allen and Ruth Limberg. Helen grew up in Glenwood City and spent her professional life as a teacher.
Over the last three years, she and her brother, Hollis, have been working on a book about the history of Glenwood City. She painstakingly photographed each main street business building and told the history of that building, and also included in the book are many stories and old photographs of the community.
She worked and is financing this project with her goal to have a history of the community and to financially help the local historical society. The book is now in the printing stage at the Tribune office and should be for sale in the very near future.
Thanks for reading! ~Carlton
