“Human civilization will end” if birth rates continue to fall

In a piece published by the Capitol Guardian back in April, Elon Musk, noted “that the obvious math involved with plummeting fertility rates in countries all over the world, and reacting to the latest birth rate numbers from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), wherein the numbers have dropped to 1.61 live births per woman, stating, “If birth rates continue to plummet, human civilization will end.” That’s even lower than it was in 2020 during the Covid pandemic, when it was 1.63 babies per woman.

As the U.S., Japan, South Korea, and Europe all continue experiencing significant declines, Musk is warning that it is leading to “population collapse” and that countries will become empty of people and fall into ruin. “Record low birth rates are leading to population collapse in Europe and even faster population collapse in most of Asia.”

If my memory serves me right, it was not that long ago that Asian countries were limiting the number of children a family could have in an attempt to hold down the population growth of their country.

Musk continued, “Immigration is low in Asia, so there is no replacement going on.”

Maybe this is the reason that President Biden has the open border policy, that is where we have seen some where around ten million illegal’s enter our country. Keeping the population up should be his re-election slogan.

The Capitol Guardian concluded with, “Elon Musk is right. And it’s all basic math. If women have fewer than two babies each, the population has to decline, less than one and it collapses, and if they have no babies, within a very short generation the human race will go extinct. It’s that simple.”

As I drive around our state, it seems that every area community is growing and so is our state and nation. The current population of the United States is estimated to be 341,814,429 people. Back in 2021 it was 338,289,851.

Our state of Wisconsin is also growing, but slowly, as the population in 2010 was 5,690,538 and the estimated population in 2022 was 5,892,539 an increase of some 200,000 people in the last twelve years.

Dane county, the home of our state capitol, Madison, has shown a large increase over that time period of some 78,956 people. In the same time period the County of Milwaukee has lost some 26,628, but still is the largest county in the state with 914,332 people. Here in this area, Saint Croix County has shown almost a four percent increase in population since 2020, now with 97,559 people. Dunn County population is estimated at 45,996, Polk with 45,978, and Pierce County with 43,500.

So it appears that the low birth rate has not yet affected the United States, so it is not necessary for me to tell young couples to have more kids.
