Solberg elected to Phi Beta Kappa

ETHAN SOLBERG

Ethan Joseph Solberg of Elk Mound, was recently elected to Phi Beta Kappa at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Phi Beta Kappa was founded in 1776 and is widely considered the most prestigious academic honor society in the country. Membership is recognized across industries as a mark of excellence.

Solberg is a senior majoring in History and minoring in Political Science. Despite suffering severe injuries last summer in 2023, Ethan has continued to strive for academic excellence. Ethan was one of only 40 students elected from the entire university this year. The induction ceremony took place last week on May 15th in Milwaukee, with speeches from the university’s Chancellor Mark Mone and Provost Andrew Daire.

Solberg attended Colfax High School, and says that his exceptional history teacher, Wes Grambo, encouraged him to excel in the field of History. Ethan graduated with the highest honors, summa cum laude, with an Associate of Arts and Sciences degree from UW-Eau Claire before transferring into UW-Milwaukee as a junior. He is set to graduate from Milwaukee next fall, and in the future, he hopes to attend law school and pursue a career in the legal field.
