At Monday nights City Council meeting the members filled the open seat on the City Council, and also and held the swearing in of the city’s new police officer.
The city had received two letters of application for that open seat on the council. The two candidates were asked to read their letter of application before the council and the more than 30 members of the public that were seated in the community center for the monthly council meeting.
The first to read her letter was Kristen Curvello who indicated that she had been a resident of Glenwood City since 2011 and she works at West CAP and is from Boyceville. She noted how quick her kids made friends when they were first enrolled at the local school.
The other person that applied for that open seat was Jud Kraft. He noted that he has been a resident of Glenwood City for a year, but has been in the coming to the community for some time as his parents build a home on the city’s west side a number of years ago and is where he now lives. He is a senior financial advisor.
The council, in a secret ballot chose Curvello to fill the open seat on the council and then Mayor Kent Kletscher invited Curvello to take her seat at the council table.
