Kenneth A. Satter

Kenneth A. Satter
Kenneth A. Satter age 70, of Colfax, WI passed away Friday, May 3, 2024.
He was born Jan. 17, 1954, in Eau Claire, WI to Arthur Satter and Ruth Satter (Selvig). He grew up in Colfax, attending Colfax Schools, where his mother Ruth was a teacher.
Kenny married Sue Kothlow on Feb. 9, 1974. Together they farmed in Colfax for more than 40 years. They had two children, Tina and Tami.
Kenny will be remembered as a hard worker. He enjoyed dairy farming, being a construction laborer and part owner of D&M Masonry, and then later in life, crop farming, raising steers, and owner-operator of Ken Satter Trucking, where he hauled cattle.
Hobbies he enjoyed earlier in life included coon hunting with his favorite black and tan hound ‘Smokey’ and pulling horses. Later in life, he enjoyed attending horse pulls and spending time fishing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren at the lake. He was especially fond of tractor pulling, where he used creative thinking to improve the outcome. Some might try to say his creative thinking gave him unfair advantages; however, Kenny would disagree with that, and we would not expect anything less because he also enjoyed good-spirited debates.
Kenny is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sue Satter; two daughters Tina (Dave) Edwards of Colfax, and Tami (Kyle) Knutson of Colfax; grandchildren: Tyler (Katie) Knutson, Kaitlin Edwards, Tiernee (Andrew) Adix, Jack Edwards, Emmie Edwards, Nate Edwards; two great-grandchildren: Carter and Carson Knutson; one brother: James (Diane) Satter; and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Ruth; a brother Nels (John), and a sister Altha (Jean).
A visitation for Kenneth will be held from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Thursday May 9, 2024 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, WI. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Jordan Herrick officiating. A meal will be served following the service.
