Emmy L. Winoske

Emmy L. Winoske
Emmy Lu Winoske, age 86, of Menomonie, Wisconsin, and formerly Wilson, Wisconsin passed away peacefully Saturday, December 16th, at her residence, Cambridge Senior Living, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
Emmy was born Emma Louise Villman, December 26, 1936 in Glenwood City, Wisconsin to Earl and Alice (Walker) Villman. She was the youngest of 11 children. Emmy grew up in the Glenwood City area, working on the family farm and attending the local schoolhouse. She was versed in The Bible, often participating in bible study throughout most of her life. After Emmy became of age, she met her husband Jim Winoske in Menomonie. The two were wed in May of 1956. Together they raised three children, Jody, Cindy, and David (Jr.). During the course of their marriage, Jim worked for the railroad and the family had lived in a number of places between Minnesota and Wisconsin, however, their roots remained in the area where they grew up. In 1972, Jim and Emmy moved their family to Wilson, Wisconsin establishing a nearly lifelong residency.
Emmy wore a lot of hats throughout her life: from wife and mother, to waitress and entrepreneur offering home cleaning services. When Emmy was in her late 30’s, she decided to pursue a career as a flight attendant for Delta. Being that Emmy was raised on a farm, she did not have the opportunity to finish school as she was needed at home. Emmy, while continuing to be a mother and wife, received her GED to obtain employment with Delta Airlines. After finding financial stability with her newfound career, Emmy was able to spoil her family, which brought her great happiness. She loved to travel and did so often. She also loved her flowers, her family, and to talk about The Lord and The Bible. Emmy will be deeply missed by her family and friends. We will take solace in knowing that Mom will be rejoined with Dad and Cindy in Heaven.
Emmy is survived by one sister, June Ringstad of Baldwin, her daughter Jody (Mark) LaPoint of Petaluma, California, her son David (Vicki) Winoske of Menomonie, three grandchildren: Lamar, Tamar, and Payton, four step grandchildren, and three great granddaughters, as well as countless family and friends.
Emmy was preceded in death by her husband Jim, daughter Cindy (Harwell) eight sisters, one brother, and her parents Earl and Alice Villman.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, Wisconsin with Celebrant Teresa Pejsa officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Hersey, Wisconsin.
