I was on vacation last week.
I flew to Orlando Florida with a group of five for a week of rest, relaxation, taking in the sights, and warm weather, with plans to return on Saturday, October 21.
I was quickly made aware of the high cost of entertainment here and found tickets to one of the parks was $140 each. We went to Disney Springs where I had to purchase a gift for my great-grandchildren in the Disney Store in Disney Springs. I found a nice back pack celebrating Disney’s 100th anniversary and it was on special for only $78. Later I found the same backpack downtown with a special price of $15.99. If you haven’t guessed by now, I came home some $78 lighter.
So, we were to arrive back home Saturday afternoon aboard SunCountry Airlines. But, come Thursday morning a couple of us were sick, tests showed one with Covid. Which caused one of us to spend two days in the hospital, and with the five day waiting period we were not scheduled to arrive until Monday afternoon in Minneapolis.
So about all we could do was watch TV and try to keep up with what is happening in Israel and the hunt for a new Speaker of the House. The Republicans need to get a Speaker of the House on board so we can move forward. One thing is, that without a Speaker, the government can’t do anything and that would be a good thing for the country.
We had one bright spot, and that was we purchased gas for $2.99 per gallon.
Thanks for reading! ~Carlton
