Mildred E. Packer

Mildred Emma Packer, age 109, of Colfax, passed away April 26, 2023 peacefully in her sleep at Colfax Health and Rehabilitation following a two-week illness.

She was born to Fred and Mattie Klepper March 25, 1914 in Burr Oak, Iowa. Millie graduated for Waukon High School in 1932. She married M.A (Tim) Packer in Madison on June 15, 1940 and they farmed on Rusk Prairie for 35 years.

Millie is survived by three children: Sally, Mary, and Jill (Phillip). She is also survived by son-in-law Doug; daughter-in-law Beth; grandchildren, Simone, Margaret (Kenny), and Tom; and great-grandchildren, Evelyn and William. 

She was preceded by her loving husband in April 1975; daughters Susan and Jane; and son Timothy.

A family burial service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Menomonie, WI. Memorials may be made as a donation to the Colfax Public Library.

A special thank you to Registered Nurse John of St. Joseph Hospice for the extraordinary care he gave Millie. Also thank you to Pastor Mark for his visits, and the staff of the CBRF for the diligent attention they gave Millie.
