VIKING GIRLS HEADED TO STATE — The Colfax girls’ basketball team defeated Neillsville 39-37 Saturday afternoon, March 4 at Osseo-Fairchild High School to win its first sectional championship in ten years and earn a berth in this week’s WIAA Girls’ Division State Basketball championship to be held at the Resch Center in Green Bay. The Lady Vikings will play Laconia in a state semifinal contest this Thursday evening, March 9. Colfax beat Phillips in overtime in Thursday’s sectional semifinal in Chetek. The Vikings, who are 21-6, also won the regional championship the previous week with wins over Unity and Cadott. Players, coaches and managers are shown with the sectional championship plague.
