Sarah Jane Lyons

Sarah Jane (Milliron) Lyons age 85 of Glenwood City passed away peacefully in her sleep Saturday, February 19, 2022. Born in Knapp, Wisconsin on June 6, 1936, to George and Mary (Dunnigan) Milliron, she grew up with six sisters and one brother. She attended grade school at both Crane Town and Broadview Schools, later graduating from Glenwood City High School in 1954. From there she moved to St. Paul and worked for Montgomery Wards for two years.

On October 13, 1956, she was united in marriage to Vincent Lyons, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Glenwood City. They started farming together and soon after the first of their seven children was born. One of her passions was baking for her family, friends and neighbors. The neighbors especially enjoyed her sticky buns. She will be fondly remembered for her daily bread making, green jello with cottage cheese and BBQ’s for family gatherings, picnics and church events. In later years she greatly enjoyed and looked forward to her trips to Duluth- Superior with her daughters.

Preceded in death by loving husband, Vince in 2000; parents; siblings, Betty (Bill) Forrest, George Jr. (Marlene) and Monica Roy; brothers-in-law, Bud Kneringer and Daniel Potter. Sarah is survived by children, Pat (Lytha), Rich (Deb), Ed (Barb), Susan (Ken) Kahler, Donna (Tim) Peterson, Mike (Chris) and Theresa (Ted) Shackett; grandchildren, Joe (Andrea) Lyons, Matt Lyons, Jason (Brianne) Lyons, Jeremy (Erin) Lyons, Jordon Lyons, Chris Lyons, Kelsey (Deigo) Medina, Eric Kahler, Dan (Philomena) Kahler, Joe Kahler, Randy (Amanda) Peterson,

Becky (Adam) Greschner, Nicole Lyons, Mike Lyons, Charlie Shackett; nine great grandchildren; sisters, Pat Kneringer, Rita (Walt) Andersen, Jean Potter and Judy (Joe) Casey; brother-in-law, Tom Roy; many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 24 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home, 607 First Street Glenwood City.

Private Family Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in St. Bridget Catholic Cemetery, Wilson.
