Arthur E. Koehler

 

 

Arthur Eugene Koehler, age 95, of rural Colfax, WI passed away Thursday, Feb. 17, 2022, at home, surrounded by family.

He was born Nov. 29, 1926, in the Town of Tainter, Dunn Co. WI to Eli and Julia (Ranney) Koehler. Art served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

On March 28, 1953, Art married Fern Quaderer in Stillwater, MN. They lived in St. Paul, MN until 1961, when they moved to North St. Paul, residing there until Art’s retirement from Jones Hardwood Lumber in 1989. Since retiring, they lived in the Colfax area.

Art loved gardening, hunting, fishing, and spending time with family.

Art is survived by five children, Eugene Koehler of Colfax WI,  Shirley (Dennis) Murphy of Wheeler WI, Randy (Tessie) Koehler of Wheeler WI, Alan (Tammy) Koehler of Ridgeland WI, Barb Koehler of Colfax WI; a brother Vern Koehler of Colfax WI; seven grandchildren, Heather, Sara, Tim and Heidi Murphy, Jennifer Chrysler, Julie (Isaac) Angert, Elizabeth (Ethan) Gansberg; three step-grandchildren, Jeremy, Jessica, Justin; 13 great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife Fern Koehler; parents, Eli and Julia Koehler; a brother Gordon Koehler; a sister, Lyla Cadd; an infant sister, Viola; and infant great-grandsons, Brayden Chrysler and Ivan Angert.

A Celebration of Art’s Life will be held at a later date. Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, WI is serving the family.
