FIRE DESTROYED A SHED and 60 large round bales of this year’s hay crop on the Jim Huber farm at E2303 County Road V in New Haven Township Saturday morning, November 6th. The Boyceville Fire Department responded to the scene and called for aid from several other departments including Sand Creek, Glenwood City, Colfax, and Menomonie. In the picture the smoldering hay bales were moved away from other buildings on the farm and doused by firefighters. Fire officials believed that the fire started from spontaneous combustion in the hay. —photo by Carlton DeWitt
