DELANEY JANE MATTISON
Delaney Jane Mattison passed away on May 20, 2021, at Glenhaven Inc. where she resided in the recent years. Delaney was born to Norman and Luella (Anderson) Johnson near Prairie Farm, WI, on August 31, 1929. After graduating from Boyceville High School she attended UW- Stout for a year.
Delaney married Kenneth Mattison of Menomonie on August 31, 1948.
Over the years Delaney worked at a variety of jobs. Then in 1980s she returned to school at Chippewa Valley Technical College and earned a degree as a licensed practical nurse. She was a life long member of West Akers Lutheran church and, together with her husband, raised a family of six children.
Upon retirement Delaney loved to travel. Excursions with daughter Anissa took her to the Black Hills, Iceland, Ireland, and Scotland. Many winters in the motorhome allowed her and Ken to spend time in California and Arizona seeing the sights and visiting with numerous friends and relatives.
Delaney is preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Kenneth, her parents, daughter Anissa, and granddaughter Amanda.
Delaney is survived by children, Nancy (Alan) Filipa, Craig Mattison, Brian (Trudy) Mattison, Peter Mattison (Joan Sutliff) and Paul Mattison. In addition she is survived grandchildren Nicole Amble, Marlo (Brad) Stevens, Jonathan (Alyson) Filipa, Timothy Filipa, Katie Mattison (Steven Baier), and Nathan (Rayne) Mattison. Her great-grandchildren Brady and Gabrielle Amble, Jaden and Brylee Stevens, Annette, Katherine, Claire and Easton Filipa, and Blake and Josie Mattison.
Graveside services were held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 24, 2021, at the West Akers Lutheran Cemetery with Reverend Mark Woeltge officiating.
