Do you think the election results are legitimate?
Last week I wrote that I felt that with the popular vote being in Biden’s favor and he was leading by more than three million votes, (now it appears his lead has increased to over five million votes). I further stated that I felt that there is no way the courts could change the election outcome. I still feel that way, but with the number of phone calls I received last week from people that believe the election results were manufactured to give Biden the win.
Some of my callers, point to the fact that in Wisconsin and in some eastern states, early returns favored Trump by a large margin. When I retired to bed late election night, Trump was leading in Wisconsin by more than a hundred thousand votes. But, when I turned on the television Wednesday morning that lead had evaporated and so did his lead in other states. A couple of my callers noted that is stuffing the ballot box. They contend that election workers waited until they knew how many votes Biden was trailing by and then manufactured votes for Biden.
One of my callers also pointed out about Angie Craig (D), the Congresswoman from Minnesota’s Second District, which includes Washington County which is located just across the St. Croix River from Hudson, was trailing by a large number in early returns but by morning, she had gained the lead. Then there is the question about the hardware and software that tallies the vote and it is from a firm that is controlled by a foreign country.
It’s hard for me to think that enough questionable activity has happened at the polling places to change the outcome of this presidential election. In the end, I think Biden will become out next president. But, the question is, will you accept the outcome?
Our Wisconsin Senator, Ron Johnson said that half of the country would not accept the outcome of the election if Democrat Joe Biden wins. Johnson, who is a strong support of President Trump, refused to say if he thought the election was legitimate, while admitting he had no proof of any illegal activity.
“It’s very unfortunate that no matter who wins, the other half of America is not going to view this as a particularly legitimate election,” Johnson said. He continued, “I’m not saying it’s legitimate or not, I’m saying this process has been set up where people are not going to view it as legitimate. And that’s a real problem.”
Johnson indicated that 1.3 million people, Republicans and Democrats alike voted by mail in Wisconsin.
That big number of voters outside of the polling place leaves me to question if all those voters have the right to vote and can one person vote more than once?
I like requiring us to go to the polls to vote, tell the election worker your name, showing some sort of ID, sign the roll, get a paper ballot or vote electronically and that vote is recorded as you are in the polling place. Over the years absentee ballots have not been questioned, because there have not been that many requests as in this election, and the ballot returned can be verified.
One thing we need to do is that any ballot that is not in by the poll closing is not to be counted. There is no reason to have ballots coming in a week or two after the polls close, which invites questions, if they are legitimate. Don’t get me wrong there is a need for absentee ballots for those who cannot get to the polls, but an effort must be made by us voters to see that there are no questions about the true count of the election and the outcome is above reproach.
The Daily Touch, a newsletter put out by Americans for Limited Government put it this way: “Patience. The Trump administration’s legal challenge is taking shape. It could put as many as 94 Electoral College votes in play. But the evidence needed to win a legal challenge takes time, so we must be patient. The truth is more important than anything else. We must restore election integrity.”
