It’s spreading!
Now the President and the first Lady have contracted the Corona-19 virus with the President ending up in the hospital over the past weekend. The virus has also infected Wisconsin Untied States Senator Ron Johnson, and it seems like it is out of control.
Is the President right by trying to keep our economy open by encouraging everyone to keep on working or is Joe Biden right by hiding in his basement in an attempt to keep the virus from spreading from one person to another? To me social distancing is the right thing to do, but if we stay at home our economy will suffer. You decide what is the right thing for you and your family to do.
How many of you watched the presidential debate last week? I was very disappointed with the president. He should have a zipper put in his mouth. But, Joe Biden was no better with his name-calling.
Here is how The Morning Newsletter out of Alexandria, VA summed it up: “This past week, President Trump went head-to-head with the Democratic presidential nominee, Joe Biden, in Cleveland, Ohio for the first round of presidential debates. Both parties sparked immense controversy for their chaotic argumentative behavior over the 90-minute program. Each candidate attacked the other on personal terms while continuing to disregard the debate rules they agreed on prior to the event. The constant interruptions and lack of productive discussion left many voters confused and disappointed.”
President Trump used the same tactic of interrupting the other candidate four years ago against Hillary Clinton, and it worked well for him and that gave him the edge with the voters. But I don’t think it worked very well for the president last week. The president needs to do better in the next debate.
As for Biden, I found several items that he failed with. One was the “Green New Deal.” He appeared to be for it and then against it. First Biden stated that, “The Green New Deal will pay for itself as we move forward.” When Chris Wallace questioned him if he supported the Green New Deal, Biden said he did not.
How about his stand on raising the income taxes. He stated that only those making $400,000 annually would see a higher tax load. But he is going to reverse the Trump tax plan and that will affect everyone with a tax bill. I would ask everyone to compare what you had to pay in federal income tax for the year 2019 against previous year with similar taxable income. I check my 2019 against the 2017 because of similar taxable income and I found that I paid about $2,000 less under the Trump plan. So if Biden wins and rolls back the Trump plan, I will be paying more income tax and so will you.
One thing that was left unanswered was how did Biden, and especially his son Hunter, benefit from dealings with foreign countries that occurred when Joe was vice president?
