I still don’t have a hair cut!
As I write this piece on Friday, May 15th, I have not had a haircut since back in the last week of February. But I am hoping that by early next week the hair should fall onto the floor. So here is what is happening: Walmart is open, I can’t get a hair cut; Walmart is open but I can’t go to church; Walmart is open, but I have to eat lunch at the curb; Walmart is open, but now I can go to a pub.
Our governor overstepped his authority by closing businesses and churches. Even though I agree with the idea of social distancing, the First Amendment to our Constitution is very clear on the matter of freedom to assemble and respecting the free exercise of religion. So let’s stay at home a while longer, but let’s not arrest anyone who wants to enjoy our freedoms.
I want to change our train of thought for a couple of minutes and try to remember back two years ago during the mid-term election of 2018. Remember what issues the Democrat Party was pushing for at that time in an attempt to regain control of the House of Representatives. The issues were healthcare, immigration reform and the border wall.
Well, the Democrats gained control of the House and what agenda did they push. It was not health care, apparently they did not want to screw it up a second time, nor was it immigration reform. They spent a year and a half and millions of dollars on a made up impeachment charge, lead by Adam Schiff and the Wicked Witch of the West, Nancy Pelosi, who should have been smart enough to know that there was no way in God’s green earth that they could get two-thirds of the senators to vote for impeachment.
Here is what I think, the impeachment proceedings by the Democrats was a smokescreen just to divert our attention from what happened with the spying on the Trump’s transition team by government officials. General Michael Flynn got in the middle because I think that he knew something was amiss in the federal government and there was a conspiracy by some people to overthrow a sitting president because they did not like him.
Now that the impeachment ordeal is long over, did the Democrats go back to promoting healthcare incentives or immigration reform? No. They are now proposing spending three trillion dollars on some government giveaway program and say we need it because of the Coronavirus and they want to create some sort of mail in ballot proposal. How many things could go wrong with a mail in ballot? We have been going to the polling place in this county for more than 220 years now and it has worked very well and it ain’t broke, so don’t try to fix it.
Let me take a guess at what our nation’s debt will be by the end of this year. I will say close to thirty trillion, that’s a three with 13 zeros, and I am afraid all we have done is to make future generations slaves over our nation’s debt.
