The Glenwood City and Boyceville School Districts have been offering free lunches for students with Glenwood City beginning their service last Monday, March 23, and Boyceville’s began on March 19.
Glenwood City School District families will need to visit the school website, click on free lunches, and then take the short survey. Or families can call Nicole Brite at 715-265-7120 and leave a message with the name, grade, and allergies of each student in the home along with the bus number.
The service is available throughout the closure or worst case scenario would be until food items begin to run out, with deliveries scheduled from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Glenwood’s free meals are available for students ranging from Tiny Toppers to 18 years old, and must be refrigerated after receiving.
Boyceville School District began their free lunch services on March 19 with 147 families already signed up for deliveries.
The school district is serving all of their students, regardless if they are free, reduced-paid, or full pay students. Families are urged to call Nancy Pustol at the middle/high school office at 715-643-3647 option one.
Meals are delivered by van on Mondays and Thursdays. Monday’s delivery contains lunch for Monday, and breakfast and lunch for Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday’s delivery is lunch for that day, Friday’s breakfast and lunch, and Monday’s breakfast.
The meals will be placed outside the front door after the drivers have honked and seen someone wave through the window, or stepped outside to let them know they are home. This keeps the drivers and families from coming into contact with each other, and practicing safe distancing.
