2-1-1 will assist Dunn County with answering citizens’ questions about COVID-19

211 is answering calls about COVID-19, also known as the coronavirus. This network is designed and staffed to handle the large volume of calls from concerned Dunn County residents who have questions about the virus.

211 is equipped and trained to answer questions from the public. “We are asking residents to call 211 instead of our general information line, so that Public Health can focus on contacting cases and contact tracing” said KT Gallagher Dunn County Health Department Director.

Anyone looking for information about the COVID-19 outbreak can simply dial 2-1-1 (or 877-947-2211) or Text “COVID19” to 211-211.

The 211 network is an established resource to connect callers with critical information about health and human services. This ensures citizens can talk to a person who is trained to answer their general questions 24 hours a day. However, if you are experiencing signs and symptoms of COVID-19, call your health care provider. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 9-1-1 immediately.

Other resources are the Center for Disease Control and Prevention website, Wisconsin Department of Health Services or monitor their social media channels. If you are looking for guidance about how to respond as a school administrator, non-profit or faith-based organization staff member, business owner, or event planner, the CDC has provided detailed information for different sectors.
