THIS 1992 CADILLAC DEVILLE, driven by Collin J. Schone, 20 of Wilson, received heavy front-end damage when it struck the rear of another vehicle along State Road 128 last Friday morning, February 21 as it slowed down to turn west on to County Road E. The accident occured at 8:55 a.m. in the Town of Springfield. According to the St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office, both vehicles were traveling north along State Road 128 when a 2012 Ford Focus being driven by Brett M. Brabec, 20 of Clayton, signaled to make a left turned onto County Road E when it was struck from behind by Schone, the lone occupant of the Cadillac. Schone told authorities that he had looked away for a second and when he turned back he was unable to stop or avoid colliding with the Brabec vehicle. Brabec also had two passengers in his car, James C. Nelson, 20, and Madison M. Kimbro, 18, both of Eau Claire. The Glenwood City Ambulance and Fire Department responded to the scene. Schone was cited for following too close. —photo by Shawn DeWitt
